Three-container model for separate waste collection

The three–container separate waste collection model (blue - for paper packages, yellow - for plastic and metal, and green - for glass) was introduced at the Bulgarian Black Sea resort “Albena” in 2006. All commercial points were equipped with specialized bins for separate waste collection with the capacity of 240l and 360l. In addition, Ecobulpack distributed PE bags with the capacity of 80l in replacement of the mixed waste containers. 
In view of the successful and effective functioning of the Three-container system Ecobulpack organized an educational seminar where the issues of separate waste collection on the territory of “Albena” resort were discussed. The seminar was predominantly oriented to the hotels and restaurants managers and owners. The public information campaign was extended by placing billboards, banners and information boards, explaining the public benefit of the system and distributing booklets and newssheets with instructions for separate waste collection in 6 languages (Bulgarian, English, Russian, German, French and Romanian).
